Note to self: Post this post from October 14

I am seeing Girl From the North Country tonight and got last minute tickets for tomorrow night’s Freestlye Love Supreme for tomorrow night so I can see James Monroe Iglehart <3 and Lin-Manuel Miranda perform, even though I saw the freestyle hip-hop group shine on Monday. And it just makes me grateful for so many things…

— That I was able to get fully vaccinated and live in a city that takes the health and safety of its residents seriously amidst an enduring global pandemic.

— That live theatre is BACK and it’s as amazing as ever!

— That I’m gainfully employed and able to afford tickets to shows.

— That there is so much talent in this city and I have access to it.

Since the beginning of June, when I saw songwriters perform live in Times Square for the first time since March 2020, I have been so privileged to see plays, musicals, concerts, cabaret performances and more. I have been to 54 Below multiple times and seen plays and musicals that made my cry and made me laugh and made me cry from laughing so hard. I’ve gone with friends and by myself and I’ve seized every opportunity to support artists and shows that I love. And it’s been absolutely worth it. I have a bunch of upcoming shows that I’m super excited about, but wanted to share how grateful and privileged I feel to be able to enjoy theatre and live music once again!

Welcome back NYC arts…
